UptimeRobot vs UptimeDesk: Which Is Right for Agencies?

If you're looking for an alternative to UptimeRobot for agency work, the honest starting point is that UptimeRobot is a good product. It's been around forever, the free tier is generous, and for watching your own sites it's hard to beat. The comparison only gets interesting when the URLs you monitor belong to paying clients.

All UptimeRobot pricing below checked against uptimerobot.com in July 2026.

Where UptimeRobot wins

  • Free monitors. 50 monitors free at 5-minute intervals, versus UptimeDesk's 5. If quantity of free checks is the whole requirement, stop reading — use UptimeRobot.
  • Monitor types. Beyond HTTP checks, UptimeRobot's paid tiers add things like DNS and UDP monitoring that UptimeDesk doesn't offer.
  • Track record. They've run for over a decade. We're the newer product; that's simply true.

Where the agency math flips

Agency work needs three things UptimeRobot wasn't shaped around:

Client grouping. An agency dashboard should answer "which client has a problem?", not list forty URLs alphabetically. UptimeDesk attaches every monitor to a client; UptimeRobot has no client concept.

A branded status page per client. On UptimeRobot, removing their branding from status pages ("white-label") sits on the Team plan at $33+/month. On UptimeDesk, per-client status pages with your agency's name, colour and logo are part of the $7/month Pro plan — because for agency use they're not a premium extra, they're the product.

Client-ready reports. UptimeRobot sends uptime summary emails. UptimeDesk generates a branded PDF per client that you can attach to an invoice — uptime, incidents, response times, SSL status, under your logo.

The pricing comparison, plainly

| | UptimeDesk Pro | UptimeRobot | | --- | --- | --- | | Price for 1-minute checks | $7/month | $9/month billed annually (Solo) | | Monitors at that price | 25 | 10 | | White-label status pages | Included | Team plan, $33+/month | | Branded PDF client reports | Included | Not offered | | Client grouping | Up to 10 clients | Not offered |

For a freelancer with a handful of retainers, the practical difference is $7/month with client features included, versus $33+/month before the status pages stop advertising someone else.

The short version
